Durable, High-Heat Resistant, and Engineered for Mycelium Success.

Don’t let contamination or bag failure ruin your grow. At Kai Kai Farm, we use the same bags we sell.

Our polypropylene grow bags are 30% thicker (0.08mm vs 0.06mm) than industry standards, ensuring they survive the autoclave or pressure cooker every time.

They also feature high-efficiency 0.2-micron filter patches for optimal gas exchange without the risk of contaminants.

Why Growers Choose Kai Kai Farm Bags

0.08mm Heavy-Duty Polypropylene

Most bags on the market are 0.06mm. Our extra thickness provides superior tensile strength—meaning no more split bags during sterilisation or handling.

0.2-Micron Filter Patches

The "Gold Standard" for mycology. This fine filter patch allows your mycelium to breathe while keeping out even the smallest mould spores and bacteria.

High-Temperature Resistance

Fully autoclavable and pressure-cooker safe. These bags are designed to withstand 121°C without melting or becoming brittle.

Australian Tested

We aren't just resellers; we are growers. We test every batch on our farm in Tamborine Mountain to ensure they meet commercial standards.

How to Choose the Right Mushroom Filter Bag

When selecting a bag, the most important factor is the Filter Micron Rating. A 0.2-micron filter (like the ones used in our entire range) is essential for grain spawn because it provides the highest level of protection against contamination.

0.2-micron can be used effectively for fruiting and bulk substrates as well ensuring no contaimination during incubation. Also highly effective for incubation spaces that may not be ideal.

Tips for Sterilising Grow Bags

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Ensure steam can circulate around each bag in your pressure cooker.
  • Seal Options: While these bags are designed to be heat-sealed, they can also be closed with heavy-duty cable ties or "impulse sealers" after inoculation.
  • Cool Down: Always allow bags to cool completely inside the steriliser before moving them to a still-air box or flow hood to prevent "vacuuming" in unfiltered air.
