why it works
Benefits your plants will show
Every ingredient is chosen for a reason. Here's what you'll notice after a few weeks of consistent use.
the ritual
How to use your kit
Three simple steps, done together or separately. The more consistently you use them, the more your plants will reward you.
Mix 1 tablespoon of insect frass into your potting soil when repotting, or dissolve 2 tablespoons per 9 litres of water for a liquid feed. Apply to moist soil for best absorption.
Every 4–6 weeks during growing seasonAdd 2–3 capfuls (10–20mL) to every litre of water you use to water your plants. The microbes get to work immediately, colonising the root zone and improving nutrient uptake with each application.
Weekly or fortnightly, year-roundShake the bottle well. Mist lightly over both the top and underside of leaves. Use the bamboo cloth dry first to lift any dust, then damp after spraying to polish to a natural shine.
Weekly — or whenever leaves look dustyGOT QUESTIONS?
Frequently asked.
What exactly is insect frass, and is it safe to use indoors?
Insect frass is the nutrient-rich waste produced by sustainably farmed mealworm insects during the composting process. It's high in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and chitin — which also triggers plants' natural immune responses. It's completely odourless, non-toxic, and safe to use indoors around pets, children and food-preparation areas.
Will the neem oil spray harm my pets or kids?
No — our organic neem oil spray is formulated to be safe around pets and children once dry (which takes just a few minutes). We've infused it with lemongrass rather than stronger essential oils to keep it gentle and pleasant-smelling indoors. As with any spray, we recommend ventilating briefly after use.
Which plants is this kit suitable for?
The kit works beautifully across all common indoor plants — aroids (monsteras, pothos, philodendrons), ferns, snake plants, peace lilies, fiddle-leaf figs, orchids, kitchen herbs, succulents and more. The insect frass fertiliser is gentle enough for sensitive root systems but effective enough for heavy feeders.
How long will the kit last?
That depends on how many plants you have and how frequently you use it, but for a typical collection of 10–20 indoor plants, most customers find the probiotic tonic and neem spray last 2–3 months each. The bamboo cloth is reusable — just rinse, air dry and it's good to go again.
Can I use all three products at the same time?
Absolutely — in fact, that's the recommended approach. The fertiliser feeds the soil, the probiotic tonic activates and sustains the microbial life in that soil, and the neem spray works on the foliage above. They target different parts of the plant and work synergistically together.
Does the neem oil have a strong smell?
Pure neem oil has an earthy, distinctive scent that some people find strong. We've infused ours with lemongrass, which gives it a fresh, clean botanical fragrance that's much more pleasant for indoor use. Most customers describe it as subtle and natural-smelling.
