Most supplements come in a capsule. These ones grow on your kitchen bench. Mind & Mycelium is a tabletop mushroom farm built around four of the most studied functional species in the world — grown fresh, by you, so you know exactly what you're consuming and where it came from.
What's in the box
Four fully colonised mushroom blocks, ready to fruit, plus a mushroom book of your choice. Leave your book preference (children's, cooking, foraging, medicinal, or colouring) in the order notes at checkout.
Each block produces up to 500g on first harvest, with up to four flushes possible. The varieties:
Lion's Mane 'Pom Pom' (Hericium erinaceus) — the original brain food mushroom. Cascading white pompoms with a rich, seafood-like flavour when cooked. Contains hericenones and erinacines, studied for their potential to support Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) production — the protein involved in maintaining healthy neurons. One of the most talked-about functional mushrooms of the past decade.
Lion's Mane 'HULK' (Hericium erinaceus) — a different strain of the same species, producing larger, more robust fruiting bodies. Same functional profile, bigger harvests. Having two Lion's Mane strains means you can observe how genetics influence growth — and you get more of the good stuff.
Reishi (Ganoderma steyaertanum) — Australia's native Reishi, grown in the Tamborine Mountain highlands. Revered in East Asian traditional medicine for thousands of years as an adaptogen — used to support stress resilience, sleep, and immune modulation. Reishi is typically prepared as a tea or tincture rather than eaten fresh. The fruiting bodies have a stunning lacquered appearance and will last for months as a dried specimen.
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) — the bridge between functional and gourmet. Shiitake contains lentinan, a well-researched beta-glucan that supports immune function. It also happens to be one of the most flavourful and versatile culinary mushrooms in the world — deeply umami, with a rich savoury depth that improves the longer it cooks.

Growing notes
Lion's Mane performs best at 18–22°C with high humidity and good airflow — too much CO₂ and it elongates instead of forming tight pompoms. Shiitake prefers 15–20°C. Reishi is slower and more patient — it'll develop its distinctive antler-like primordia before forming a full cap, and the process is fascinating to watch even before harvest. These aren't all instant-gratification grows, but they're among the most rewarding.
