Your soil is already working hard. Terra-Kashi makes sure it never runs out of fuel.

Most amendments add nutrients. Terra-Kashi adds the microbial workforce and mineral toolkit to make those nutrients actually available to your plants — unlocking what’s already in your soil while steadily building what isn’t.

Crafted in small batches on Tamborine Mountain, Terra-Kashi is a supercharged mineral and microbial inoculant — a living amendment blended from organic wheat bran, volcanic minerals, insect frass, Australian seaweed and activated EM cultures. Top-dress your garden beds, layer it through your compost pile, or work it into new soil builds. Within days, you’ll see the biology respond.

Organic wheat bran + Activated EM-1®

The microbial engine

Inoculated with Dr Higa’s original EM consortium — lactic acid bacteria, yeasts and phototrophic bacteria — delivering billions of living microorganisms directly into your soil food web.

Malted barley + Insect frass

The biology fuel

Malted barley enzymes accelerate organic matter breakdown. Insect frass contributes chitin — priming plants’ natural defences while feeding beneficial fungal networks. Frass sourced locally from RichRoots Fertilisers & JinsGrowth Farm.

Organic zeolite

The nutrient locker

A volcanic mineral with high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Holds nitrogen, calcium and moisture in the root zone, buffers pH swings, and improves water retention in sandy soils.

Organic gypsum

The calcium kick

Improves drainage in clay soils, prevents compaction, and delivers bioavailable calcium without altering soil pH — the key to preventing blossom-end rot in tomatoes, capsicum and zucchini.

Organic seaweed + Rock dust

The mineral vault

Sourced from pristine Australian waters, seaweed contributes 60+ trace minerals and natural growth hormones. Rock dust adds slow-release silica, iron and magnesium for long-term soil fertility.

Organic molasses

The microbial feast

A carbon-rich food source that keeps beneficial microbes alive, active and multiplying from the moment they contact moist soil.

  • White, cobweb-like growth across your mulch and compost within days (see below — this is excellent news)
  • Faster breakdown of mulch, garden trimmings and compost inputs
  • Richer, darker compost with a pleasant, earthy aroma
  • Improved soil structure and moisture retention over successive applications
  • Healthier root zones and visibly more vigorous plant growth

About that white growth: Most growers call it mycelium — but it’s most likely actinomycetes, specifically Streptomyces species. These bacteria behave like fungi, forming white filaments and producing that distinct earthy smell (geosmin — the scent of healthy soil). They break down cellulose, lignin and chitin; produce natural antibiotics that suppress pathogens; and are one of the clearest signs your soil food web is thriving. It’s not a concern — it’s proof the product is working.

Application rate guide

🌿

Top-dress — garden beds and no-till systems

Use every 1–3 weeks during the growing season

30–60 mL per 30×30 cm area
Sprinkle evenly across the mulch layer. For new beds or heavy mulch, use a generous handful per 30×30 cm to kickstart biological activity. Water in lightly after application to activate fermentation at the surface.
♻️

Compost pile activator

Apply when building or turning a pile

125–250 mL per 30 litres of compost
Sprinkle between layers as you build — no need to pre-mix. When turning an existing pile, scatter across the surface and water in before covering.
🪴

New soil builds and bed preparation

When setting up raised beds or turning over veggie plots

500 mL – 1 L per 100 litres of soil mix
Work through the soil profile before planting. Pairs well with your existing amendments — Terra-Kashi activates what’s already there.
🌱

Seedling and transplant boost

At planting time

15–30 mL per planting hole
Add 1–2 tablespoons to the hole when transplanting seedlings. Backfill, plant, and water in as normal — the microbes do the rest.

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keep the bag sealed between uses to maintain microbial viability. Solid-state fermentations like Terra-Kashi remain viable for years when stored correctly.
⚠️ Animal notice: The sour-fermented aroma is irresistible to dogs, cats and rodents. Store in a sealed container or somewhere inaccessible to pets.
