Are your mushrooms certified organic?

Our mushrooms are grown using fully organic methods — no sprays, no synthetic chemicals, no pesticides — but we are not formally certified by an organic certification body.

Certification involves significant ongoing fees that don't reflect the quality of what we actually grow.

Our practices are completely transparent; if you'd like to visit the farm and see how we work, you're very welcome to.

How fresh are the mushrooms when they arrive?

Every order triggers a fresh harvest on our farm — we don't warehouse or cold-store mushrooms for days to weeks.

Combined with express next business day postage for QLD, NSW and VIC metro areas, most customers receive mushrooms within 24–48 hours of harvest.

It's as close to farm-gate fresh as you can get without visiting Tamborine Mountain yourself.

How long will fresh mushrooms keep once delivered?

Store your mushrooms in the fridge in a paper bag or their original packaging — avoid airtight plastic, which traps moisture and accelerates decay.

Most varieties keep well for 5–10 days from delivery. Oyster and Lion's Mane are best within 5 days.

Reishi and Turkey Tail have a longer shelf life and can also be dried for extended storage.

How should I cook gourmet mushrooms?

It depends on the variety. Pan frying with butter, garlic, and a little salt works beautifully for nearly all types.

Lion's Mane can be sliced thick and seared like a steak. Reishi and Turkey Tail are best slow-cooked in broths or made into tea.

Pioppino and Chestnut hold up brilliantly in pasta, risotto, and stews. Each product page includes specific cooking suggestions for that variety.

What is the difference between gourmet and functional mushrooms?

Gourmet mushrooms are primarily grown for culinary qualities — their flavour, texture, and versatility in the kitchen.

Functional mushrooms (like Reishi, Turkey Tail, and Lion's Mane) are valued for specific bioactive compounds with health-supporting properties.

Many of our varieties are both — Shiitake and Lion's Mane are delicious to eat and functionally significant.

Do you deliver Australia wide?

We currently offer express next business day postage to Queensland. New South Wales and Victoria metro areas, plus local pickup and delivery across the Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, and Tamborine Mountain region.
